Dr. Richard Freed workshop on childhood and screen time at Sunrise School of Miami

Childhood and Screen Time Workshop

Technology is increasingly woven into children’s lives, and many families struggle with screen-time limits and device use. But when we talk about childhood and screen time, we must also ask: What happens when technology begins to replace the real-world experiences children need to grow and thrive?

Children need time to imagine, create, move, explore nature, build relationships, and discover the world through direct experience.

Setting boundaries around technology can be challenging for parents and educators. Rather than focusing only on screen-time limits, we can ask how to make more room for the experiences children need—and how families and schools can work together to protect them.

Join us at Sunrise School of Miami for a special community workshop with Dr. Richard Freed, child and adolescent psychologist and author of Wired Child and Better Than Real Life.

Together, we’ll explore how technology can displace essential childhood experiences and consider practical ways to establish healthier boundaries in a digital world.
